Stephen Wayne Allen, 80, of Norton Shores, MI passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Trinity Health St. Mary's Hospital.
Stephen was born to Louis and Wanda (Miller) Allen in Fort Wayne, IN on June 28, 1942. Stephen was an avid reader and book collector. He was always on the search for rare finds and 1st editions. He often gave books to his children and grandchildren as gifts.
While working for the Department of Defense, he traveled to Haiti, which he enjoyed very much. It touched him to experience the different culture and the comradery of the people there. Stephen loved to help others and donated blood whenever he was able. His love for animals also meant he donated to local animal shelters when he could.
Stephen is survived by his sons, Daniel (Audra) Allen of Grand Haven, MI, Douglas (Maria) Allen of Muskegon, MI, and Vance Allen of Muskegon, MI; grandchildren, River, Maddox, Juno, Tavin, Amya, Aerianna, and Lillian; and brother, Richard (Angela) Allen of Holt, MI. Stephen is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Suzanne (Horner) Allen and both of his parents.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of services at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. A luncheon will follow for everyone in attendance. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in the spring.
