Yvonne Shirley Petersen

July 28, 1958 — February 23, 2023

Yvonne (Mona) Petersen of Grayling passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 23, 2023 at the age of 64. She was born to Doug and Caroline Miller on July 28, 1958. She married John Petersen on August 24, 1996. Mona loved being a wife, mom and grandma. She liked yard sales and traveling with family. She loved bird watching and her favorite was always when the cardinals come to visit. She was a member of the Eagles. As a military wife, she was very supportive of our military community.

Mona is survived by her husband, John Petersen; Daughter, Trisha (Aj) Powers; Son, Josh (Lindsey) Petersen; Son, Scott (Carrie) Petersen; Mother in-law, Alice Baynham; Grandchildren, Logan, Zoey, Brandon, Nate, Hannah, Thomas, Caden, Asher; Siblings, Debbie (David), Gail, Carleen (Lee), Steve (Maribeth), Carl (Julie), Tina (Steve), Linda (Ed), Jody (Tom), Dan (Paulette), Lisa (Bob),  Shelly (Bill), Mark (Stephanie); and many Nieces and Nephews.  

Preceded in death by her parents Doug and Caroline Miller; Father in-law, Keith Moore; Brother-in-laws, Bill Firman, Todd Petersen and Kenny Rollf; Nephew, Johnny Miller.

The family would like to thank Brittany and Hospice of Michigan in helping us get through this difficult time. 

A Celebration of Life will take place at Grayling American Legion on March 4th from 2pm-5pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Michigan.
