William P. Anderson, 92, of Mio, MI passed away on December 27, 2013 at The Brook of Grayling. Bill was born on October 24, 1921, to Charles F. and Pearl (Park) Anderson in Royal Oak, MI. Bill was a graduate of Royal Oak High School and attended Henry Ford Trade School, where he became a tool and die maker. Bill proudly served his country with distinction in World War II, with the 42nd Infantry (Rainbow) Division, 142nd Engineer (Combat) Battalion, in France, Germany and Austria. He married Reta Catherine (Williams) Anderson on June 24, 1948, who preceded him in death in 1995. He retired from Wilson Engineering in Saginaw, MI. He spent his retirement years enjoying the woods and river at his cabin in Mio, MI. He was passionate about researching the family and regional history of the Mio area and spent countless hours tracing the family's history in the area. Bill is survived by his daughter Norma J. (Charles) Dunbar of Huntersville, NC; his son, William C. Anderson of South Haven, MI; four grandchildren; Chad Anderson, Kayla Anderson, Kacey (Chris) Grabinski, and Samuel Dunbar; his great granddaughter Sophie Anderson; his favorite niece, Jackie (Larry) Smith of Cedarville, MI and his wonderful neighbors, Richard and Marie Duso. He requested no public services and will be interred with his beloved wife and parents at Acacia Park Cemetery in Beverly Hills, MI. Arrangements by Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
