Weldon Rex ""PA"" Wakeley

Weldon Rex Wakeley, PA, 75, of Grayling passed away on October 28, 2011 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the family he loved. He married the former Donna Sherman on September 14, 1957 at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church in Grayling. They recently celebrated 54 years of marriage. He had six children: Allen (Kim) Wakeley of Lovells Becky (Randy) Smock of Grayling Tim (Sherry) Wakeley of Grayling Shea (Marty) Haskin of Grayling Toni (Terry) Alimenti of Grayling John (Diane) Wakeley of Grayling 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren He loved his family from the most immediate down to to last distant cousin he knew. He loved to cut firewood. He worked in the woods most of his life. He would have cut wood the day he died if his body would have permitted him to. Weldon loved the fall and being outside. He hunted and trapped with a passion. He taught his sons, grandsons and daughter Shea a lot about hunting. Weldon loved animals and took care of his like they were his children. He loved to pull pranks on the unexpecting and then he would laugh his sheepish laugh, and we would all join in. WE LOVED OUR PA! Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Tuesday Nov. 1. 2011 between 5-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be hold on Wednesday Nov. 2, 2011 at 11:00 am at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home with Rev.
