Virgilene Olive "Scottie" Scott (Hoffman)

Virgilene Olive "Scottie" Scott, 86, of Grayling, MI and formerly of Bay City passed away on Saturday December 8, 2012. Virgilene was born in Saginaw, MI on August 30, 1926, daughter of the late Olive (Grills) and Delbert Hoffman. She married Robert A. Scott on June 19, 1944 in Bay City, MI. They were married for 42 years before he preceded her in death in 1986. She was an avid bowler and a former employee of Narlock Lanes in Bay City. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Stars. She was very much loved and will be missed by her family and the staff of Grayling Nursing and Rehabilitation Community. Survived by: Daughters: Linda Jo Scott, of Bay City, MI; Pamela Sue (Kenneth) Newsham, of Bay City, MI; Phyllis 'Scott' (Gary Parker) Meilstrup, of Canton, GA. Son: Robert (Linda Joyce) Scott, Jr., of Roscommon, MI; 8 Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Sisters in law: Marilyn "Jean" Hoffman of Saginaw, MI Marilyn "Micky" Hoffman of Grand Blanc, MI Preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, and brothers Delbert and Robert Hoffman. Virgilene's wish for cremation will be honored and a memorial service will be planned at a later date.
