Viola Dorothy Phillips (Rattie)

Viola D. Phillips, 90, of Grayling, MI passed away on June 5, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital of Sagniaw, MI. Viola was born February 12, 1923 in Cross Point, Quebec, Canada to the late Ignace and Alexandrine (Roy) Rattie. She retired from Millikins as an accountant some years ago. Viola was a member of the St. Mary's Church in Grayling. She enjoyed knitting, shopping, entertaining and dining out.She donated her knitted items for the Newborn babies at the hospital. Viola is survived by her daughter Loretta and Tim Minnick of Grayling; daughter in law of Dartmouth Nova Scotia, Canada; 8 grandchildren: Julia, Michelle, Christa, Cassandra, Jamie, Shelly, Jennifer and Tamara; 2 step-grandchildren: Kristopher and Emily; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; also a sister Teresa and a brother Edgar both of Alberta, Canada. Viola is preceded in death by her husband Gabriel Phillips, both parents and 5 children: Hugette, Norman, Suzanne, Maurice and Joseph. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00 am June 15, 2013 with visitation at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grayling, MI.Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Viola.
