Victor M. Johnson, 88, of Grayling passed away on Friday, June 18th, 2010. Victor was born in Tawas City, MI on May 22, 1922, the son of the late Victor and Helen Johnson. He served in the US Coast Guard in WW II. Victor married the former Helen Morenz on Nov. 13, 1946 in Detroit at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death in 1991 after 44 years of marriage. He was retired from at Chrysler Corporation where he worked for 27 years. He moved to Grayling in 1987. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church of Grayling. He served faithfully in his church and was often heard to say that "Every day is a blessing." He also delivered Meals on Wheels to area senior citizens. Victor also volunteered at the Crawford County Christian Help Center Survived by Sons: David (Myra) Johnson of Utica, MI., Tom (Diana) Johnson of Smyrna, Maine. He is also survived by 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great grandchildren. Sister: Alice (William) Asplund of California. Brother: Jack (Joann) Johnson of East Tawas, MI. Memorial Service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 with Brandon Rogers and Sandy Altman officiating.
