Vernon Floyd Ritenburgh

Vernon Floyd Ritenburgh, 90, of Caledonia, passed away on November 21, 2019.

He was born on November 25, 1928, in Grand Blanc, Michigan to the late Floyd Burton and Alvena Mary (Krage) Ritenburgh. Vernon married Ilene Goodall on August 13, 1950 at Grayling, Michigan. They have been married for 69 years. He served in the US Army for two years as a paratrooper. Vernon worked at General Motors for 30 years and retired in 1976. He was a member of UAW Local # 730.

Survived by his wife, Ilene Ritenburgh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and bowling. Children: Gayle (Al) Peterson of Grand Rapids; Vernon (Rosetta) Ritenburgh of Grand Rapids; Debra Ritenburgh of Grand Rapids; Terri Manert of Grand Rapids; and Brenda (Rick) Kraima of Wayland. Vernon has also been blessed with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sister: Norma (Glenn) Cotton of Kalkaska. Sister in law: Margaret Ritenburgh  of Tucson, AZ and Traverse City, MI. Preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter, Yvonne Ritenburgh;  brothers, Arnold, Gerald, and Richard Ritenburgh; and sister in law Donna Jean Ritenburgh.

Funeral service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, Michigan on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with public visitation beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment will be in spring of 2020 at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling, Michigan. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sorensonlockwood.com
