Thomas R. Stancil

Mr. Thomas R. Stancil, 92, of Grayling passed away on Monday, December 3rd, 2007. Thomas was born in Smithfield, NC on November 3, 1915, the son of the late Walter and Dilly Ann (Renfrow) Stancil. He served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He married the former Georgianna Olson in 1941 in Florida, she preceded him in death in 1985. Thomas is survived by Sons:Arnold T. Stancil of Grayling, George (Marilyn) Stancil of Grayling, Phillip (Grace) Stancil of Grand Rapids, He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, 13 Great-Grandchildren Thomas was preceded in death by his loving wife Georgianna, a daughter Ann Marie Stancil, two brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Monday December 10, 2007 between 6:00-8:00 pm. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday December 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church in Grayling. Interment will be held in Spring 2008 at Elmwood Cemetery Grayling, MI.
