Thomas E. Mitchell, Jr., 93, of Higgins Lake passed away on Sunday, May 2nd, 2010. Thomas was born in Detroit, MI on May 10, 1916, the son of the late Thomas Edward and Mary Dot (Brewster) Mitchell. He married the former Helen Irene Clark on October 17, 1942 in Ann Arbor, MI They were married for 62 years before she preceded him in death in 2004. Survived by: Daughters: Susan Lowrey Nancy Jones of Higgins Lake. Peggy (Steve) Baker of Boyne Falls Sons: Bruce (Paula) Mitchell of Wayne, PA. Thomas E.Mitchell, III of Traverse City. 23 Grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren,and one great grandchild. Sister: Ruth Horning of Arizona Brother: Dwight Mitchell of Milan Preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Bill, sister Betty, daughters Susan and Betty Jo, granddaughter Mary Jane Longo and her children Zachary, Sadie, and Madison. Chapel Service will be held at Washtenong Memorial Park & Mausoleum in Ann Arbor, MI, at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, May 4th, 2010.
