Thomas Gerald Miller

Thomas Gerald Miller, 91, of Grayling, passed away on June 6, 2019. He was born in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Chester and Grace (Downs) Miller on August 9, 1927. In July 1945 he enlisted and served in the US Navy during WWII Era. Thomas worked 33 years for Ohio Bell in Dayton, Ohio, as an Installation Technician and later as a Supervisor. He married Mildred (Pope) on November 4, 1961, who preceded him in death in 2017. Thomas loved fly fishing on the Au Sable River. He also enjoyed tying flies professionally for Gates Au Sable Lodge, watching and playing tennis, and spending time with his family. Thomas was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Survived by his children, Nancy Calhoun of Dayton, Ohio, Robin (David) Baker of Port Angeles, Washington, Jeff Miller of Tabor City, North Carolina, and Thomas (Nancy) Miller II of Pickford, Michigan. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Mildred of 55 years, parents, first wife Sarah Patricia (Witherspoon), grandson Josh and great grandson Benjamin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on June 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements by Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
