Ruby May Huffman

Ruby May Huffman(95) of Grayling, passed away on January 31, 2019. She was born in Flint, Michigan on December 16, 1923 to Floyd and Georgia (Saunders) Tobias. Ruby was a beautiful lady inside and out! She graduated from Clio High School, Class of 1942. She married the love of her life, Arthur Huffman, and together they had two amazing children, Linda and Arthur Jr. She retired after many years as a successful proprietor of "Huffman Grocery" in Clio, MI. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Grayling, MI and a member of the Moose Lodge in Roscommon, MI. Ruby's family was most important to her and she loved spending time with everyone. She loved to visit with friends and family or just call them on the phone to ask how they were doing. Every time you saw Ruby, you could expect to receive a hug and then she would try to feed you! Whether it was road trips to Alaska with her sister and brother-in-law, countless vacations and spontaneous adventures with her daughter all around the country, riding as her son's copilot during flights, or just having coffee, you could see she had a free spirit about her. Ruby loved the outdoors, watching baseball and football games on TV, reading her Harlequin Romance novels, camping, fishing, and spending time with family and friends around a good bonfire. She had an outgoing personality, loved to socialize, and made friends everywhere she went. Ruby was the kind of lady you could count on for anything and she was always a part of any celebration. Survived by daughter, Linda (Huffman) Munsey, of Grayling; grandchildren, Arthur Munsey, Lorie Munsey, Diann (Brian) Davis, Debra (Jeff) Poloski, Amie (Ryan) Bartig, Joseph Huffman, JoAnn (Peck) Wolf, Ruby Huffman II and Valerie Huffman; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous generations of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by husband, Arthur W. Huffman; son, Arthur W. Huffman Jr.; and sister, Elizabeth Mattson. Ruby has blessed all that knew her with great memories that we will cherish in our hearts forever. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 12:00p.m. and will be followed by a funeral service at 2:00p.m. Interment will be at Thetford Township Cemetery in Clio, MI.
