Ronald Joseph Doe, Sr. of Graying Michigan passed away peacefully in Homosassa Florida surrounded by his family after a short battle with advanced kidney cancer on August 29, 2013. Ron "Papa Doe" was born May 7th 1942 to Ray & Bernice (Narbut) Doe in Wyandotte Michigan. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army and the Michigan National Guard retiring from both and also from M.A.T.E.S. of Grayling where he was a heavy equipment mechanic. His passions included food, cooking for his family, boating, fishing, hunting, and finding the best bargain on anything and everything. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ray & Bernice Doe of Lincoln Park, Michigan and an uncle, Jay Doe, of Kalkaska, Michigan and his ex-wife and best friend Tina "Cookie" Doe (son Dylan) of Grayling. Survivors include a brother Robert "Peach" Doe (Gayle) 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and special friend Robert (Rose) Golos. Other survivors include his close friend and ex-wife Doris Hayward-Doe of Higgins Lake Michigan, a daughter Theresa Weber (Randy) of Homosassa, Florida, a son Ronald Doe-Nimphie (Stacey) of Petoskey, Michigan, a son Richard Doe (Katie) of Grayling, Michigan and seven grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling Michigan on September 9th at 1:00pm with burial at Elmwood Cemetery to follow. The family will receive guests prior to the service and at a reception in his honor at the American Legion Post 106 immediately after burial. Condolences may be sent to www.sorensonlockwood.com.
