Roberta Eileen Wright, 88, of Grayling, passed away on Saturday October 30, 2010 Roberta was born in Flint, MI on April 7, 1922, the daughter of the late Harold and Iva (Beagle) Tiller. Roberta married Russell Wright on December 22, 1944 in Flushing, MI. He preceded her in death in 1988. She worked at Department of Social Services. She was life member and Past Matron of Grayling Chapter 83, Order of the Eastern Star, Past President of Wolverine District Assoc. OES; Past High Priestess, Queen City Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem in Traverse City District, Vice President Western Michigan, White Shrine of Jerusalem, Grand Representative of Maryland in Michigan OES; Past President of Grayling American Legion Auxiliary, Charter President of both American Business Women and Business and Professional Women's Clubs in Grayling; Past President of Michigan State Employees Association in Grayling; Charter member of Grayling Lioness Club; member of Grayling Youth Boosters Club; member of Crawford County Historical Society, and a member in long standing of Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church. Roberta generously supported many charities in the Grayling area. She helped with the meals on wheels program and Christian Help Center. Survived by Sons: Thomas Wright of Adrian, MI., Terry (Linda) Wright of Grayling, MI. Grandson: Joel Wright Great grandson: Eli Wright Sister, Katherine Trowbridge of Mesick, MI. Preceded in death by parents, husband Russell, and sister Marie Young Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Tuesday Nov. 2, 2010 between 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday November 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. William Cargo officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery Grayling, MI. .
