Mr. Robert F. Paulsen, Jr., 81, of Grayling passed away on January 2, 2011.. Robert was born in Detroit, MI on June 18, 1929, the son of the late Robert F. and Matilda (Cook) Paulsen. Robert married the former Lena "Lee" Boubeff on April 26, 1953 in Detroit. She preceded him in death in 2007 after 54 years of marriage. He served in the Michigan National Guard with active duty during the Korean War. Robert was a graduate of Howe Military School. He received the 1953 Stewart Medal which was awarded to the outstanding National Guard Soldier in the state of Michigan. He enjoyed community theater, collecting guns, and sailing. He attended Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church. Survived by: Daughters: Lori J. (Gary) Werner of Brunswick, OH. Michelle S. (David) Guerra of Newburry Park, CA. Sons: Robert F. (Parrish) Paulsen III of Los Angeles, CA., Michael S. (Jim Kozloff) Paulsen of New York. Grandchildren: Ashton Paulsen, Megan & Maxwell Werner, Andrew, Tyler, & Benjamin Guerra. Robert was preceded in death by an infant son Kenneth David Paulsen and sister Donna Visnaw. Visitation will be held on Thursday January 6, 2011 between 2-4 p.m.. and 6-8 p.m.. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home, at 12 noon on Friday, January 7th,2011 . Interment will be held in Spring 2011 at Elmwood Cemetery.
