Robert George Hritz

Robert George Hritz, 84, of Grayling, passed away on September 2, 2017. Robert was born on April 19, 1933 in Flint to the late Peter and Anna (Fultonovich) Hritz. Robert served in the US Army. He retired from at General Motors and then went to Mexico to set up an engineering plant, and he helped Garland Golf Course start up a log home business. Robert married JoAnne Neil on August 29, 1996 in Alden, Michigan. Robert had many interests including jazz music, opera, photography, collecting art, fly fishing, golfing, hunting, race walking, cross country ski racing, and gardening. He was a carpenter and built his home on the river. Survived by his wife, Joanne, of 21 years. Children: Annette (Sam) Hritz of Colorado, Mark Hritz of Davison, Paul (Christine) Hritz of Mt. Morris, and Timothy (Deb) Naser of Texas. Grandchildren: Shauna Stagner, Mitchell Hritz, Christopher Steel, Frank Hritz, Alina Smith, and Tabitha Eagen. Sister: Betty Harbin of Flushing. Preceded in death by his son Matthew Hritz; brothers, Peter and Walter Hritz; and parents. Memorial service will be held at Grayling Country Club on Saturday, September 23, 2017 with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. up until the 12:00 service. Luncheon will follow the service.
