Robert William Chumack

Robert W. Chumack, 85, of Grayling, MI., passed away on March 22, 2017. Robert was born in Detroit, MI on September 9, 1931, a son of the late Nettie (Lilac) and William Chumack. He married Roxie Riehl on April 14, 1956. Bob served in the U.S. Navy as an SA in the Korean War. He served about 3 1/2 years on the submarine service, stationed in New London, Connecticut. He worked as a field tech for Burroughs Corporation, which later became Unisys Corporation for 28 years. Bob was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church. He loved bowling and played with the Grayling Senior League. Bob was involved with Indian Guides, Scouts, and Little League Baseball with his sons. He loved family camping vacations. Bob enjoyed being involved in the Euchre Club and Hook-n-Trigger Club while living in the Lovells area. Survived by his wife Roxie of 60 years. Children: William Robert Chumack, Marie Brunke, Frederick (Kathleen) Chumack, Gerald Chumack and John Chumack. Grandchildren: Katie Rigby, Megan and Emily Brunke, Nicole Allan, Nicholas Chumack, Penelope and Gerald Jr. Chumack, Nicole McCollum. Great grandchildren: Faith Elizabeth Allan and Amber McCollum. Siblings: Sandra Chumack and Cynthia (Jack) Lind. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until the beginning of his memorial service that will be held at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 12:00 with Rev. Joseph Polzin officiating. Family requests that, lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to Mt. Hope Lutheran Church or UMCCC Cancer Center Fund.
