Robert Wayne Chappel

Mr. Robert Wayne Chappel, 83, of Grayling passed away on Friday, July 6th, 2007. He was born in Grayling, Michigan on March 12, 1924, the son of the late Rex Aaron and Ruby Angeline (Dyer) Chappel. He served in the U.S. Navy in WW II. He married the former Eileen Sorenson on October 12, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. She preceded him in death on September 14, 2004. He was a member of American Legion Post 106 and Grayling Masonic Lodge #356 He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Grayling. He is survived by : Daughter(s): Valerie (Ken) Jones of Grayling, MI. Judy (Gary)Lenn of Chesterfield Twp, MI. Kathy (Randy) Sadjak of Barbeau, MI. Cindy (Jim) Knibbs of Petoskey, MI. Son: Rob (Pam) Chappel of Oregon. Seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Sisters: Pat Stern and Delores Kinsora Preceded in death by his parents, wife Eileen, a grandson Darryl Jones, and a sister Janet Barczynski. Visitation will be held on Monday July 9, 2007 between 3-5 and 6-9 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. A Masonic Memorial service will be held on Monday July 9, 2007 at 7:30 p.m at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday July 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home with Pastor David Blake officiating.
