Grayling, MI Richard James "DICK" Dawson Richard "DICK" James Dawson, 81, of Cadillac passed away on Tuesday, March 17th, 2009 at Cadillac Mercy Hospital surrounded by his family. Dick was born in Grayling, MI on June 5, 1927, the son of the late Earl and Clara (Peterson) Dawson. and graduated from Grayling High School. He married the former Patricia Walser on December 1, 1951 in Chesaning, MI. He worked as a sales rep for pharmaceutical companies. He and his family enjoyed spending time at their cabin in Lovells. Dick at one time had his own band and played big band and swing music, was also an amateur radio operator "WA8SUE", and enjoyed golf and walking Survived by his wife Pat of 57 years. Daughter: Pamela (Raymond) Bennink of Coopersville, MI. Son: James Dawson (and special friend Deb Caldwell) of Manton, MI. Grandchildren: Chad, Clint, & Shanna Bennink, and Linsey Dawson. Step-grandchildren: Ray, Matt, Josh, and Alan Richardson. Sister-in-laws: Polly and Matilda Dawson and several favorite nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers Devere and Norman Dawson, Sister and brother in law; Vivian and Wesley Dunham, and daughter in law Cindy Dawson. Funeral service will be held on Monday March 23, 2009 at 12:30 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home, Grayling, MI,. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery Grayling, MI.
