Richard James Anderson, 75, of Grayling passed away on January 28, 2022.
He was born in Bay City to the late James and Rita (Michalski) Anderson. Rick served our country during the Vietnam era in the US Navy. He married Nova Engel on April 15, 1972. She preceded him in death in 2018 after 46 years of marriage. Rick retired from Fuel Gas. He also sold real estate and served as a Crawford County Commissioner. Rick cared deeply about the needs of his community and served on boards of action related groups and committees. He was involved in Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed collecting many types of trading cards, hunting, fishing, and golfing.
Survived by his children: Brandy (Thomas) Harmon of Grayling and Timothy (Stephanie) Anderson of Johannesburg. Grandchildren: Michael Harmon, Kendal Anderson, and Isabella Harmon. Great grandchildren: Lahken and Aubree Harmon. Sisters, Susan (Lowell) Norton of West Branch and Kathryn (Christopher) Hawkins of Beaverton, brother, Jim Anderson of Oscoda and many nieces and nephews. Brother in law: Ferris (Karen) Engel and Fred (Roberta) Engel of West Branch.
