Peter James Latusek, 86, of Grayling, MI., passed away on October 31, 2015. Peter was born in Johannesburg, MI on June 3, 1929, a son of the late Agnes (Fisher) and Thomas Latusek. He married the former Frieda "Ann" Theaker on August 26, 1950 in Bay City. Peter served in the U.S. Army in WW II., was a member of the American Legion Post #106. He was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was instrumental in forming the Grayling Eagles. He owned the Grayling Power Equipment Company and previously owned the Sinclair Station in Grayling. Peter enjoyed nature, waterfalls, hunting, fishing, golf and had many cherished memories from a trip to Alaska. Survived by his wife Ann of 65 years. Children: Penny (Terry) Shepherd of Grayling; Tony (Sandra) Latusek of Frederic; Donald Latusek of Grayling; Marilyn (Barry) McClanahan of Florida; and David (Dusty) Latusek of Grayling. Grandchildren: Brian and Eric Shepherd; Michael, Scott, and Daniel Latusek; Barry Kurtis McClanahan; Joseph, Brandon, and Rebecca Latusek and 8 great grandchildren. Brother: Chester Latuszek of Gaylord. Preceded in death by his son, Michael James Latusek; and brothers, John and Florian "Doc" Latuszek. Visitation will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Thursday, November, 5, 2015 between 2 to 8 p.m. A Knight's of Columbus Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
