Patricia Ann Heck

Patricia Ann Heck, 76, was called home on August 13, 2022.  She was surrounded by her children and is now reunited with her husband and parents.

She was born on October 28, 1945 in Salina, KS to the late Robert and Dolores (Sobodowski) Leonard.  Patricia married George Heck on July 24, 1965 in St. Judes Catholic Church in Detroit, MI.  They were married 30 years before he preceded her in death in 1995.

She worked many supporting jobs and research jobs throughout her life.  Most notably she was a Le Leche League leader for many years and an award winning journalist for the Voice newspaper in Marine City, MI.  She also volunteered her time at Grayling Mercy Hospital.  But her most important and favorite job was taking care of her family.

Patricia is survived by her children: Ken (Shannon) Heck of Gaylord, Charlene (Bob) Buckles of Grayling, Michelle (Rob) Allen of Sault Saint Marie, Cheryl (Drew) Cassens of Empire, Christine Heck (Aaron) of Charlevoix, and Katie (Billy) Heck of Traverse City. She is also survived by her 24 grandchildren: Michael, Nick, GeorgeAnn, MaKenzie, Hana, Christy, Mikey, Bobby, Billy, Nathan, Shane, Anthony, Ean, Rochelle, Jesse, Brianna, Miranda, Kelsie, Madelyn, Gabe, Liam, Evelynn, Autumn and Xavier, 1 great grandson, Lucas, sister, Sharon Karpinski and brother, Bob Leonard.

Visitation will take place Friday, August 19, 2022 from 4-8 pm at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church with visitation starting at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Creek Twp.
