Patricia Jean Germain, 79, of Grayling, gained her independence from the confines of her earthly body on July 5, 2019. She was born in Port Huron on September 19, 1939, the fourteenth child to the late Leo and Edna (Barden) Keeler. Pat married William Kucharek on March 1, 1958 in Roscommon. He preceded her in death in 1997 after nearly 39 years of marriage. She married Don Germain on August 5, 2001 at Grayling Baptist Church.
Pat was one of the original members of Grayling Baptist Church and faithfully served her church. She absolutely loved the Detroit Tigers and bowling. She truly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Pat worked as a telephone operator for 10 years, then worked at Bear Archery, and retired from COOR Intermediate School District.
Survived by her husband Don Germain of 18 years. Children: Jeannie Marie (James) Whaley, Betty Jo (Lee) Bresmon, Nora Mae (Jack, Jr.) Clark, and Nancy Kay (Steve) Kapets. She was blessed with grandchildren: William Ronald (Sarah) Murphy, Jacolyn Mae Murphy, Samuel Joseph (Bobbie) Kapets, Sarah Ann (Jordan) Fite, Cassidy Carl Clark, and Chynna Marie (Brandon) Young. Great grandchildren: Aiden Michael, Chloe Morgan, and Liam Gregory Murphy; Zayn Maverick and Zoey Lynn Young; and Zephaniah Ruth Kapets. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband Bill; an infant daughter, Jacolyn Mae; sisters, Edna June, Marie Ester, Helen Henrietta, Dorothy Elenor, Velma Mary, Ann Elizabeth, and Betty Virginia; brothers, William Riley, Robert Clarence, Richard Leo, Lloyd Eric, James Walter, and Edgar.
Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 between 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on July 10 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Grayling Baptist Church. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
