Opal (Corwin) Hunter, 89, of Grayling passed away on October 9th, 2007. The funeral service was held Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Friday, October 12, 2007 with Dr. William Cargo officiating. Interment was at Elmwood Cemetery. Opal was born in Byron, Michigan on February 12, 1918, to parents Delbert J. and Minnie (Blount) Corwin. Survivors include: Brother: Robert J (Doris) Corwin of Durand, MI. Nieces: Judy (David) Bristley of Morice, MI. Darrene (Max) May of Standish, MI. Edna Kay Thompson of Durand, MI. Nephew: Leonard (Pam) Corwin of Durand, MI. Robert B. (Laurie) Corwin of Durand, MI. And many other neices, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, two brothers, and her husband William Hunter and many of his siblings Opal was a war widow of 1940's, she worked for Vernon Bank (now Chase Bank) in Vernon, MI, and then for Kroger of Durand, MI. She was a pianist at the Durand United Methodist Church and was involoved with the Sunday School there. Opal enjoyed camping and fishing with her late husband Bill Hunter in Ocala, Florida.
