Mrs. Opal V Hamblin, 85, of Grayling, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, January 10th, 2007 in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Opal was born in Richmond, Michigan on March 3, 1921 to Bert and Winona Bell (Shue) Plagens. She moved to Maple Forest with her family as a youth and lived in the Grayling area until her death. Opal married Ivan L. Hamblin on June 26, 1937 at the Hartwick Pines State Park Historical Museum. He preceded her in death in 1981. She was a member of the Grayling Free Methodist Church as well as various civic organizations. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Wilber. Survivors include three daughteres, Dawn (Robert) Meabon of Pinckney, Becky Christensen of Roscommon, Janet Hale of Grayling; Son: Bud (Mary) Hamblin of Grayling. 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren. Sisters: Frances Hebel and Barbara (Ron) Larson of Grayling. Visitataion will be on Tuesday January 16, 2007 at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home between 12 Noon-6pm. Funeral service will be at Grayling Free Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Secord officiating.
