Nancy Ida Pamerleau (Alford) of Grayling, Michigan peacefully passed away on September 12, 2022. She was born in Wyandotte, Michigan to Ida and Wellington Seeley on June 23, 1948.
She is survived by her loving husband John, son Casey Alford (Helen) and daughters Heather Peddie (Jade) and Jackie Walden (Eric). She is also survived by her grandchildren: Elizabeth, Sophia, Jack, Chase, Avari and Parker.
Nancy received a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University and a master’s degree from Central Michigan University.
During her over 20 years of service as a speech instructor at Kirtland Community College, Nancy was twice nominated for “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers”. She initiated Kirtland’s Domestic Violence Committee and a scholarship program for victims of domestic violence, while being an active supporter of River House Shelter in Grayling.
Nancy believed the need to support orphans was of great importance, the no child should go hungry mission was close to her heart. She completed two mission trips to Mexico to support the construction of the Tapestries of Life Children’s Orphanage.
Nancy was an avid outdoors person and over the years became an ardent fisherman and a beautiful nature photographer. She was an accomplished author and public speaker. Nancy also loved music; she was a talented singer.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, September 21, 2022, 6:30 PM at Grayling Free Methodist Church with visitation starting at 6:00 PM. A reception will follow at the church.
