Nancy Kay Holcomb, 62, of Clare, MI passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland, MI.
Nancy was born on July 7, 1958 to Sheldon and Shirley (Gray) Holcomb in Traverse City, MI. Nancy graduated from Michigan State University after attending high school in Grayling. Nancy taught English at Kirtland Community College for a brief time before becoming a recreational director at a Grayling nursing home. Nancy spent most of her adult years dealing with a variety of health issues but found solace in being a companion to her mother Shirley. Through the many years with Nancy's different physical ailments she worked hard to keep her independence and not be a burden to others. She loved old movies, her dog Rosie and listening to sermons by Pastor Stanley. Nancy always kept a bright spirit and good attitude even during her difficult times.
Nancy is survived by her siblings, Richard (Susan Gebelein-Holcomb) Holcomb of Minneapolis, MN, Cheryl (James) Doan of Manistique, MI, and Randy (Carol) Holcomb of Lawton, MI; and nieces and nephews, Nathan and Jason Doan, Alexa Holcomb, Greg and Brad Holcomb. She was preceded in death by her parents Sheldon and Shirley.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 10 am until time of service at 12 pm at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
