Monte Louis Malonen, 76, of Grayling passed away on Saturday May 5, 2012. Monte was born in Grayling, MI on April 17, 1936, a son of the late Celesta (Neal) and Louis Malonen. He worked as a Shipping Clerk at Bear Archery for 23 years and then owned and operated the Rose City Party Store and Restaurant and retired after working at Glens Market. Monte adored spending time with his family and enjoyed bow hunting and metal detecting. Survived by children: Kim (Brian) Pratt, Karen (Chuck) Huber, Monte G. Malonen, and Kay (John Woolford) Babbitt all from Grayling; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Dannenburg. There will be a graveside service at Elmwood Cemetery on Tuesday May 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. A Memorial Luncheon will be held at the Gray Rock Cafe on Tuesday May 15, 2012 at 12:00.
