Michael John Kucharek

Michael John Kucharek, 60, of Grayling passed away on Friday January 11, 2013. Michael was born in Wyandotte, MI on February 21, 1952, a son of the late Madeline Marie (Straehly) and John Edward Kucharek. He married the former Wendy Feldhauser on March 27, 1976. He served in the US Army for 37 years and retired on April 20, 2007. Michael's family was very important to him. He also enjoyed golf, hunting, and fishing. He has been a lifelong member of the Grayling Youth Boosters. Michael is a stock holder at Grayling Country Club, and a member of the Eagles. Survived by his wife Wendy of 36 years. Sons: Charles Michael Kucharek, of Grayling Christopher J (Marlana) Kucharek, of Grayling. Grandchildren: Lizzie, Ethan, & Emma Brother: Patrick Kucharek of Grayling Sister: Janet (Van) Davis of Seattle, WA. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday January 14, 2013 between 2-8 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Michael's life will be held on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at 12:00 noon with Pastor Robert Marshall officiating. Military honors will be accorded for his service to our county.
