Mary Ann Wright

Mary Ann Wright, 66, of Grayling, passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 15, 2015. Mary was born on July 22, 1949 in Frankfort, Michigan to the late Floyd and Irma (Fookes) Valdick. She retired from Mercy Hospital in 2006, where she had worked as a R.N. for most of the last 30 years. She married Kenneth Dale Wright on December 8, 1983 in Lapeer, Michigan. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering and working at AuSable Valley Animal Shelter, where she delighted in taking care of the cats. She had been a cat lover her entire life, having from two to seven cats at a time. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, being outdoors and traveling to meet relatives discovered in her genealogy research. Survived by her husband Ken Wright, of 32 years. Daughter: Kristina (Gil) Work of Indianapolis, Indiana. Grandchildren: Nickolas Partello of Madison Heights, MI and Jessika Partello of Novi, MI. Brother: Terry (Kathie) Valdick of Belton, Texas. Preceded in death by her son, Harold "Buzz' Partello II. The family wishes to thank Munson Hospice of Grayling for the loving and tender care provided to Mary in the last weeks of her life. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Saturday, December 19, 2015 between 2-4 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 4 p.m. with Mary Beth Brady officiating. Refreshments will be served after the service.
