Marvin James Forbes, 74, of Grayling passed away on Thursday February 24, 2011. Marvin was born in Brown City, MI on December 14, 1936, the son of the late Elmer Theodore and Mildred (Chisholm) Forbes. He was raised by his father, Donald Teets. He served in the US Army. Marvin was known for a keen sense of humor and was proud to have a large circle of friends. He worked at Jack Millikin Inc. for 44 years. He retired two years ago. He was one the the three 'Devoted Bleacher Coaches" for the McBain Ramblers boys and girls basketball teams. Marvin was a sport fanatic mainly interested in the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting and fishing. Marvin is survived by Sons: James (Melody Sytek) Forbes of Grayling., Donald (Tina) Forbes of Grayling., Marvin (Shannon) Forbes of Grayling. 9 Grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Special friend and companion: Deanna "Pinkey" and Pace Brother: Marshall (Erma) Forbes of Cadillac. Sister:Marjorie (Phil) Kemp of Redford Sisters in law: Margaret Forbes of McBain Anna Lee Forbes of Merritt Preceded in death by parents; father Donald Teets; friend and ex-wife, Nancy Dutton; brothers: Jerry and Glyone Forbes; and sister Belva. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Merritt Butterfield Free Methodist Church, located on Merritt Road south of M-55 in Merritt.
