Marvin Dean "DEAN" Smith

Marvin "DEAN" Smith, II, 74, of Grayling, MI., passed away on December 6, 2013. Marvin was born in Detroit, MI on October 13, 1939, son of the late Edith Ruth (Polbitzke) and Marvin Dean Smith, I. He married Patsy Ann Julian on April 28, 1962 in Bay City,MI. He retired from the State of Michigan where he worked as D & R Foreman for the Department of Corrections. He loved his family. He enjoyed target practice and teaching others about shooting the proper and safe way. He could talk on the phone for hours and shared his opinion in a straight forward way as he saw things. Survived by his wife Patsy of 51 years. Children: Mary (Marty) Kelley, Marvin D. (Nadine) Smith III, and Peggy L. Smith Grandchildren: Ben, Marvin IV, Charlie, and Bruce Smith, Keanon and Kailey Kelley. Great grandchildren: Sophia Emily and Anthony Dean Smith Brothers: Mike (Linda), Tim (Gayle), Tom (Phyllis), Jim (Teri) and Randy (Alice)Smith. Preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 10, 2013 between 3-7 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 11th, 2013. Graveside Services will be held at Oakridge Cemetery in Bay City, MI. on Wednesday December 11, 2013.
