Mark Douglas Kniss

Mark Douglas Kniss, 58, of Maple Forest Township, passed away on December 26, 2013. Mark was born in Traverse City, Michigan on October 7, 1955, a son of Ruth (Doyle) and Royce Dale Kniss He married the former Cathy Dasho on November 1, 1986 at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Grayling. Mark was retired from Weyerhauser and worked as a school bus driver for Crawford AuSable School District. He has been the Supervisor of Maple Forest Township since 1987. Mark is remembered as a family man that was selfless and hard working. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and outdoor activities. Mark is survived by his wife Cathy of 27 years. Daughter: Nicole (Roger) Gibson, of Fife Lake, MI ; Sons: Dale (Chelsey) Kniss, of Brethren, MI; Jason (Kristin) Dasho, of Frederic, MI. Grandchildren: Mark-Douglas Tyler Kniss, William Zachary Paulus, Alexis Therese Kniss, Cody Lane Russell Paulus, Kaylee Jo Kniss, Grace Hannah Marie Paulus, Jonah Benjamin Kniss, Walker LaRoi James Kniss, Emma Lucille Dasho. Great granddaughter: Alexia Jane Kniss Parents: Royce and Ruth Kniss of Kalkaska Sisters: Karen (Harold) Rooksberry of Buckley Vickie Kniss of South Boardman Jan Stewart of Manton Brother: David (Mary) Kniss of Rapid River Memorial Service will be held at Mt.
