Mark J. Anderson, born on August, 11, 1964, departed this life on Monday, August 20, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Jennifer Anderson and dear father to Nicholas and Cole Anderson. He was the devoted son of Donald and Karen Anderson of St. Helen, Michigan and the late Delores Anderson of Redford Township. His siblings are Kathy Anderson and Gary Anderson (Nancy) of Canton, and nieces Sherri and Sarah Anderson. He was a special friend and dearly loved by his in-laws Don and Liz Dyer, Randy Madison, Brooke Dyer, Ryan Madison (Sabrina) and nephew, Lane. He also had many other youth in his life that knew him as uncle, cousin, surrogate father or just a treasured friend. Mark earned his Eagle Scout rank in 1982, and lived his life through the values of scouting. He has been a leader in many different capacities throughout the years in our Local Cub and Boy Scout Troops, 3944 and 944, respectively, most recently Assistant Scoutmaster. He loved working with the boys, especially helping them see their Eagle projects to completion. Following in his father's footsteps he became an employee of MichCon (DTE) in 1988, where he began in the service division and eventually became Crew Leader and back-hoe operator on the construction crew. He worked for MichCon for 24 years and loved his job, and especially his extended work family. Mark had a strong faith in God and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Roscommon. He loved his church community; he bowled on the church bowling team and played softball with them as well. He lived the exemplary life of a leader, a patient teacher of youth, and committed member of his community. He was passionate about golf and Red Wings Hockey, Detroit Tigers, and the Lions. He treasured his time with his family at home and played as hard as he worked. Mark will be missed by all who knew him and especially by his family, dear friends, and colleagues who had the pleasure of sharing his life with him. He radiated optimism, humor, compassion and never ending patience with all who he encountered. His willingness to help anyone in need touched the lives of more people than he was even aware. He laughed heartily, smiled easily, and always had a way of making the most out of any situation. He is dearly missed and his memory will live on in the thoughts and hearts of us all. Donations can be made to Roscommon Boy Scout Troop 944, American Heart Association, or the boys' college funds through Upromise SSgA.
