Marjorie Florence Roper

October 11, 1924 — December 11, 2018

Marjorie F. Roper, 94, of Grayling passed away peacefully December 11, 2018. Marge was born in Grayling Mercy Hospital in 1924. She was the daughter of Edward and Mary Sisco who had a farm near Higgins Lake. She married the late Roy C. Roper Jr. in 1948. Roy passed away in 1976 of a terminal illness. Marjorie is survived by her two children, Michael (Darlene) Roper and Tracy (Dennis) Bushey; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Marjorie lived in Higgins Lake, Detroit, and then Grayling most of her life. She worked for the Grayling Chamber of Commerce and Cornell Realty. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Marge enjoyed her home on the Ausable River, time with her family, playing euchre at the Senior Center, eating out, playing games (especially Scrabble, Rummy, and Pinachle) and visiting with her many friends. She will be missed by all, but those who knew her best take comfort that she resides with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in Heaven. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Sunday, December 16, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grayling at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in the spring of 2019 at Oakwood Cemetery in Lyon Twp.
