Marilyn Stampfly

Marilyn Stampfly, 76, of Grayling, passed away on September 14, 2020.

Marilyn was born on September 11, 1944 to the late Corliss and Thelma (Bellefeuille) Stampfly in Lansing, Michigan. She came to Grayling as a child. Marilyn was the previous owner of a service station, and she later began working at the Wertz’s Lone Pine Restaurant as a cook.  Marilyn purchased the Lone Pine in the 1980's.  She was involved with the Lone Pine for 47 years until it closed around 2015. Marilyn raised golden retrievers. She enjoyed hunting and fishing in her younger years, including multiple trips to Canada moose hunting. Marilyn generously gave to others.  She was loved and respected by many in the community and likely touched the lives of thousands of patrons of The Lone Pine Inn.  She will be greatly missed.

Survived by her sister, Ann Buszard; brothers Tom (Penny) and Bob (Sandy) Stampfly; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Renee) Stampfly, Maryah (Rick) Rohde, Brad (Michelle) Buszard, Laura (James) Welcher, Randy (Annette) Stampfly, Ginger Campbell, Penny (Mark) Rutledge, Christopher (Deanna) Stampfly, and Kevin (Melissa) Stampfly; and many great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents and brother John Stampfly.
Due to Covid-19, the family will have private services at this time and schedule a Celebration of Life later. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.sorensonlockwood.com.
