Marie Maxine Prause (Kirkum)

Marie Maxine Prause, 77, of Grayling passed away on Wednesday June 8, 2011. Marie was born in Ray Center, Michigan on March 27, 1934, the daughter of the late Glenn Lynn and Angela Anna (Dunn) Kirkum. Marie would have celebrated the 25th anniversary of her marriage to Robert Prause on August 23rd. They were married in Grayling. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Grayling, MI . Marie was active in the Lioness Club of Grayling, and served as secretary of the district Lioness Club. She was also previously chosen as "Lioness of the Year". Marie was passionate about her involvement in Relay for Life here in Crawford County. Her team has been able to raise large amounts of money for American Cancer Society. Marie's team is called "GIRLS AGAINST CANCER". Marie is survived by her husband Bob of 25 years. Daughters: Denise (Doug) Latuszek of Grayling, MI. Linda (Mark) Crane of Mary Esther, FL Jackie (Joe) Riddle of Grayling, MI. Step son: Jeff (Pam) Prause of Grayling Step daughters: Brenda (Scott) Shoberg of Duluth, Minnesota Susan Prause of Minneapolis, Minnesota. 8 grandchildren,4 Step-grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Hale; daughter Terri Vanderwall; sister Toots Ross; brothers Karl, Lester, Mark, and Orlo Kirkum. Visitation will be held on Saturday June 11, 2011 between 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Sunday June 12 between 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Monday, June 13th, 2011. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery Grayling, MI.
