Mabel Alva Persing

Mabel Alva (Zimmerman) Persing, 86, of Grayling, MI passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2014. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 6, 1928. Mabel married Richard Persing on December 1, 1949. Richard preceded her in death in 1986. Mabel placed a high value on education and her teaching career encompassed teaching in Frederic Schools, St. Mary's Catholic Schools, Fife Lake, private tutoring, and substitute teaching in Florida. She completed her Bachelors Degree in Education at 40 years old while teaching and raising her family. Survived by her children: Richard Persing of Grayling and Lee Ann (Robert) Keller of Grayling. Daughter in law: Nancy Persing of Grayling. Grandchildren: Karin, Jeremy, Eric, and Nicole and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Richard and her sons, Steven and David.
