Leone Charlene Owen (Jorgenson)

Leone Charlene Owen, 86, of Gainesville, FL and formerly of Grayling died on Sunday October 23, 2011. Leone was born in Grayling on October 14, 1925, to the late Mary (Wilber) and Leo Jorgenson. She married Russell Lee Owen on Sept 10, 1963 in Grayling. He preceded her in death in 1999 after 35 years She worked as a Printing Press Operator at Fred Bear Archery in Grayling and Gainesville. She retired from Bear Archery. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran in Grayling and University Lutheran Church in Gainesville. Leone enjoyed crocheting dolls for her grandchildren and working in her flower gardens. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 106. Survived by: Anna (Terry) Bellangar, of Clare, MI; Sharon Johnson, of Grayling, MI; Sons: William (Lori) Johnson, of Frederic, MI; Harry Johnson, of Gainesville, FL; Peter (Kate) Johnson, of Rippey, IA; Robert (Monica) Johnson, of Gainesville, FL; Thomas (Alice) Johnson, of Grayling, MI; Michael (Chris) Johnson, of Grayling, MI; Step daughters: Patricia Funk, Linda Carver, and Carol Dominic. 26 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and stepson David Hubbard. Visitation will be held on Friday October 28, 2011 between 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday October 29, 2011 at 11:00 at St. John Lutheran with Rev. David Blake officiating. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery.
