Kenneth Keith Riehle, 72, of Grayling, passed away suddenly on Monday October 18, 2010 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan. Kenneth was born in Auburn, IL on August 30, 1938, the son of the late Louis E. and Clementine J. (Sennezy) Riehle At the age of 16, he joined the Navy and he was honorable discharged in 1959. He then moved to the down state area and worked in many different occupations including owner/operator of a gas station and as a milk man. He moved to Grayling in 1982 and worked at Weyerhauser. A few years later, he started his own business called Kleen-Rite Services, Inc. which his son Brian eventually purchased so that he could retire. In 1987 he met Kathleen Farr Karsten and they eventually married on September 25, 2004. They enjoyed 23 wonderful years together. They loved their retirement and spent much of their time up at their house on Raber Bay in the Upper Peninsula Ken was active in many organizations including Grayling Masonic Lodge #356, Scottish Rite Bodies in Valley of Traverse City, a very proud active member of the Shriners, Grayling Fraternal Order of Eagles, Grayling Moose, Grayling Men's Club, and the pool league. He was Chairman of the Crawford County Road Commission and President of the AuSable Woods Association. He was founder of Grayling Snowmobile Assn. He enjoyed hunting, boating, snowmobiling, traveling, and representing the Shriners in parades by riding his mini motorcycle. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Survived by his wife Kathleen Sons: Paul (Bev) Riehle of Orange Park, Florida., Brian (Denise) Riehle of Grayling, MI., Todd (Carrie) Riehle of Almont, MI., Kenneth Keith Riehle, II of Utica. Step children: Terrie (Jim) Derke of AZ., Scott ( Meri Anna) DeGeer of SC., Barbara Karsten (Mark Messer -Fiancé) of Roscommon and Adam (Erica) Karsten of Washington. Survived by Justin and Bridget Riehle of Grayling, Scott Riehle of Utica. MI.,Tom McSwain of Michigan. Corey NeMore of TN., and Ashton Linkhart of Grayling. Great grandson Dillion McSwain of Michigan. Sister: Dawn Sentell of Tennessee. Brother: Donald Riehle of Tennessee Preceded in death by his parents, and step mother Mae Riehle, brother Jerry and sister Joan. Celebration of Ken's Life was held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Wednesday October 20, 2010 with Masonic Memorial service and Service officiated by Rev. David Rosenberg and full military honors accorded by American Legion Post 106 and representatives from the US Navy. a wake was held following the service at the Eagles Club of Grayling.
