Kenneth Ray Newberry

Kenneth Ray Newberry, 82, of Frederic passed away on Monday, May 25th, 2009 in Traverse City. Kenneth was born in Bentley, Michigan on January 5, 1927, the son of the late Roy and Grace (Demaray) Newberry. He served in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated Newberry's General Store in Frederic for 11 years. He married the former Merna Kathryne Glen on August 13, 1950 in Maple Forest Township. Survived by his wife Merna of 58 years. Daughters: Janet Newberry of Traverse City. Marnie Wiggins of Traverse City. Kathryne Newberry of Traverse City. Son: Kenneth Newberry of Grayling, Michigan. Grandchildren: Christopher, Amanda (George Mehany), Chelsea, & Ashley Newberry; Aaron & Brittany Wiggins. Sister: Betty Howard of MO. Brother: Danny (Pat) Newberry of Gaylord. Stepbrother: Fred Turner of Grayling Preceded in death by his parents; step mother Lillian Newberry; son Forest Newberry; brother Gerald Newberry; and sister Lorna Lamotte. Graveside Service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Frederic, Michigan at 1:00 P. M. on Friday, May 29th, 2009. There will be a dinner at Frederic Community Center following graveside service.
