A celebration of life for Kathryn E. Turner (Walter), 91, of Gaylord will be held at 11 am, Thursday, November 21, 2024, at St James Cornelius & Cyprian, 1010 S Lansing St, Mason MI. A luncheon will be provided by the Women’s Club immediately following the service.
Kathryn returned home to the lord on October 8th shortly after hip surgery. She was born on October 28, 1932, in Lapeer, MI and spent most of her life in Mason, MI. She was a 1951 graduate of Ingham Township Agricultural School, Dansville High School. She married Robert M. Turner on October 14, 1953, and they had six children. In later years, Kathryn lived with her daughter Carol in Virginia, and eventually moved to Grayling in 2019.
Kathryn was a dedicated mother and provider to her children. She was also a dedicated employee for over 50 years, she not only cleaned two homes, she cleaned her employers’ office & it’s above apartment’s stairwell, as well as shoveling snow outside the office during the winter months before the office opened.
Another passion was her generosity to the Catholic church.
Kathryn was a huge MICHIGAN, Detroit Lions, and Redwings fan but she loved all sports.
She is survived by her six children; Carol (Cameron), Randy (Jill), Robin, Cheryl (Glenn), Christine, and Jon (Debbie); 13 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a great-great grandchild; brother Leo Walter; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Langham and Arline Hills.
Kay will be laid to rest with her parents at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mason, Michigan in the spring of 2025.
