Kathleen Marie Jameson (Boussie)

Mrs. Kathleen Marie Jameson, 64, of Houghton Lake passed away Saturday, October 10th, 2009 at Hilltop Manor Health Care Center, Roscommon, Michigan surrounded by loving husband and friends. Kathy entered into Heavenly Glory after a 5 year long, courageous battle against recurrent ovarian cancer. She had been with Hospice of Helping Hands since April 1, 2009. She graduated from Girl's Catholic Central High School, Detroit in 1963 and was married to William Jameson, in Clawson, MI. Kathy was born July 6, 1945 in Colorado Springs, CO the second of 10 children of Kenneth and Rita (Gleason) Boussie, both of whom are deceased. In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by brothers Rev. Gary K. (Christine) Boussie, Clarkston; Dennis W. (Mary) Boussie, Clawson; Patrick S. (Debbie) Boussie, Royal Oak; Michael D. (Janice) Boussie, Troy; Timothy G. (Betty) Boussie, Madison Heights; Thomas (Lori) Boussie, PHD, CA.; Kevin L. (Marie) Boussie, Royal Oak; sisters Sheila Smith, Thousand Oaks, CA.; and Karen S. (Jerry) Gallo, Madison Heights, together with many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Bill and Kathy moved from Ferndale to Houghton Lake in 1980 to open Whistle Stop Record and Tape Station, Which closed in 1984. Kathy was appointed Lake Township Treasurer in 1981, was elected in 1982, but lost her bid for re-election by 7 votes in the 1984 primary. She was interim Trustee in 1992. Over the years Kathy was employed by several employers. For 10 years she was a licensed agent with Gandolfi Insurance Agency, Houghton Lake, as well as a secretary and customer service rep. for Municipal Underwriters of MI. She was also Field Staff Supervisor for Compassionate Care Home Health Services, Roscommon. The return of cancer after 7 years ended her position of Program Assistant with the Roscommon County Commission on Aging in December 2004. Since 1988, Kathy was a deeply committed church member, Sunday School teacher and nursing home volunteer, and served on the local Houghton lake board of Women's Aglow, International. Showing of Kathy Jameson will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Resurrection Life Center, Grayling (on M-72, 2.2 miles east of the light at Burger King), with funeral celebration at 6:00p.m. and fellowship meal following. Rev. Richard Duprey, Associate Pastor, will conduct the celebration. Donations may be made to the family. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home, Grayling, MI.
