On Saturday February 16, 2013, Kalla Jade Fisher passed on from our world and into the next realm. She died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 19 months old. For such a short time on this Earth, Kalla Jade touched family, friends, neighbors and strangers, old and young alike, with her rambunctious laughter, unmatched cunning and the luster of her brilliant being. Kalla was compassionate beyond her years and a trickster, whose cleverness far surpassed her age. Her wide-eyed and spontaneous sense of mischief left a fond grin on the faces of all who had the privilege to know her. For her family, Kalla melted away the weary and disenchanted facade of adulthood, and for beautiful moments, enchanted every space she occupied. She will be terribly missed. And for her tender, trusting inspiration we are forever changed. As the sun rises, and sets and rises again, Kalla will remain in our hearts, as a most precious gift. It is not the length of the song, but the richness of its melody, the way it moves, shifts and affects the subtle landscapes of all it encounters. Kalla Jade is survived by her mother, Jesse Lara Heath Fisher, her grandparents, Pamela and Frederick Fisher Jr., aunts and uncles Madsen Fisher, Elias Krell, Frederick Fisher III, Tamara Fisher, and Julia Swander, great aunts and uncles in both Grayling MI, and Buffalo, NY, and many loving cousins. There will be a private viewing at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI, and a private family service to follow.
