Junior Edsel Palmer, 98, of Grayling, Mi passed away peacefully at his home on January 4, 2023.
Junior was born to Sanford and Doris (Deckrow) Palmer on April 15, 1924 in Bay City, MI. Junior loved to travel, hunt, fish and go gold mining in Alaska (where he traveled 4 times by motorcycle). For many years, the last 2 weeks of August were spent fishing in Canada with his family. Junior had a great sense of humor and enjoyed entertaining his many grandchildren.
Junior was the longest serving life-time member ever of the American Legion Post 106. He was also a life-time member of the Masonic Lodge, where he was also a past Master. Junior had a saying, "Life is an adventure".
Junior will be missed dearly by his family. He is survived by his children, Patricia Koronka, Sharon Jewell, Dennis (Marilyn) Palmer, Peggy (Terry) Green, Roger (Kathy) Palmer and Edward Palmer; 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Junior was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Betty (Tobias) Palmer; parents, Sanford and Doris Palmer; brothers, Sanford Palmer and Leo Palmer; sister, Bernice Lennert; grandson, Robert Jewell; and great-granddaughter Kinsley Babbitt.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, 11-12 pm at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home followed by Military Honors at 12:00 pm. A luncheon will follow Military Honors at the American Legion Hall Post 106 in Grayling, MI.
