Mrs. Josephine M. Starks, 85, of Grayling passed away on Wednesday, June 13th, 2007. Josephine was born in Allegan County, Michigan on February 2, 1922, the daughter of the late William and Pearl Bowen. She married Wesley Starks on September 2, 1940 in Napoleon, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1999. She and her late husband Wesley previously owned and operated the Marathon Station that was located on M-72 for 15 years. They retired in 1978. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, softball, and playing "Rummy" with friends at Whispering PInes. Survived by: Son: Bob Starks of Gaylord, MI. Grandchildren: Kristie Luff (Bill) of Gaylord Joshua (Melissa) Starks of Gaylord Jennifer Sartin (Ryan) of Grayling Sarah Zelaski (John) of Gaylord Bobby Starks of Grayling Great-grandhildren: Alyssa, Adam, Tristan, Cody, Mickenzie, Kaden, Mason, & Brooklyn. Brothers/Sisters Kay and Jack Engle Barb & Chuck Schroder Jerry & Pat Bowen Preceded in death by her parents, husband Wesley of 59 years, a son LeRoy Starks, and a daughter Brenda Arnold. Visitation will be held on Friday June 15, 2007 between 5-8 pm. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Funeral Service at Saturday June 16th, 2007 at 4:000 p.m. with Pastor Rick Secord officiating.
