Joseph Peter "Joe" White

Joseph Peter White, Jr., 69, of Grayling passed away on Friday, April 23rd, 2010. Joseph was born in Detroit, MI on August 12, 1940, the son of the late Joseph Peter and Dora (Isler) White. He married Barbara Ann White on December 7,1974 in Grayling, Michigan. Joe began his working life as a plumber. He then entered law enforcement in Crawford County and "worked his way up the ranks". He was first appointed as the Sheriff and then elected. He retired in 1984. He also served as the Fire Chief of Grayling, and Mayor Pro Tem. Survived by his wife Barbara of 36 years. Sons: David White of Grayling Paul (Tina) White of Ireland. Grandchildren: Chip, C.J., and Samantha Great granddaughter: Hailey Brother: Denny Miller Preceded in death by his parents and brother Chuck.
