Joseph Lynn Dedafoe, 76, of Grayling MI, passed away at his home on March 21, 2013. He was born in Lansing, MI on October 28, 1936. He is survived by his lifetime partner, Helen Dedafoe, son, Larry (Cindy) Dedafoe, daughters, Penny Alimenti and Terrie (Louis) Kehr and son Darreld Dedafoe. He had 17 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ronald Dedafoe (Onadaga, MI) and sisters Gert Switzer (Holt, MI) and Kay Kemper (Grand Ledge, MI). He is precedeceased by his parents Jospeh D. and Pauline E. Dedafoe (Dimondale, MI), brothers Kenneth Dedafoe (St. Helen, MI) and Carl Dedafoe (Mason, MI), daughter Debra J. Ockerman (Ishpeming, MI) and grandson Jason Ockerman (Negaunee, MI). His hobbies included motorcycling, snowmobiling, dune buggies, woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, casinos, taking his naps and spending time with his family. He worked for the State of Michigan as a Corrections Officer for 25 years, until his retirement from Camp Lehman in 1992. No services are planned at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date for his family and friends.
