John Corliss Stampfly

John Corliss Stampfly, 72, of Grayling, passed away on December 21, 2011. John was born in Lansing, Michigan on September 5, 1939, son of the late Thelma (Bellefeuille) and Corliss Stampfly. John worked at Lone Pine Restaurant, Owner of Stampfly Saw Mill and Logging, previous owner of gas station and snowmobile shop. Retired DNR Keyman, and previous firefighter for City of Grayling. John loved outdoor activities hunting, fishing,feeding the deer, gathering mushrooms, berries, and acorns. Survived by; Daughter: Maryah (Rick) Rohde of Grayling; Son: Jeffery (Renee) Stampfly of Munising; Grandchildren: Ian & Keira Stampfly, Darien & Erik Rohde Sisters: Ann Buszard, of Livonia Marilyn Stampfly of Grayling; Brothers: Tom (Penny) Stampfly of Kalkaska Bob (Sandy) Stampfly of Dewitt; Special friend: Sharon Helsel Nieces and nephews: Brad (Michelle) Buszard, Laura (James) Welcher, Randy (Annette) Stampfly, Ginger Kreft, Penny (Mark) Rutledge, Christopher (Deanna) Stampfly, Kevin (Melissa) Stampfly Several great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday December 23, 2011 between 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Robert Barnett officiating. Interment will be at Beaver Creek Cemetery. Family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the family or AuSable Valley Animal Shelter.
