Jesse Cruz

Jesse Cruz, 92, of Grayling, passed away on Tuesday October 19, 2010. Jesse was born in New Braunfles, Texas on September 6, 1918, the son of the late Jesse and Lucia (Morales) Cruz. He served in the US Army during World War II where he was part of the 42nd Rainbow Division. He was a member of VFW Post 3350 in St. Louis, Michigan He married the former Ruth Feldhauser on July 11, 1941 at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church. Jesse volunteered at Crawford County Commission on Aging. He generously shared his time doing deeds like delivering meals on wheels and transporting seniors to appointment to name a few. He and his beloved wife Ruth were members at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church. Survived by his wife Ruth of 69 years. Sons: Jesse (Audrey Coady) Cruz of Chattanooga, Tennessee Stanley (Claudia) Cruz of St. Louis, MI Thomas (Carol) Cruz of Big Rapids, MI Daughter: Jana (Robert) Ring of Rockford, MI Grandchildren: Jeffrey & Michael Ring, Kelly Rademacher, Bryan Cruz, Karli Kimmel, Chad Cruz, Sarah Newman-Cruz, and Joshua Cruz. Great-grandchildren: Olivia & Jacob Rademacher, Kameron Cruz, Naomi Ring, Aiden Cruz, & Evan Kimmel Preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Friday October 22, 2010 between 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. William Cargo officiating. Military Honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 106. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church.
